Singing for fifteen years or so, Phil Callery of the Voice Squad was their first teacher and his Thursday night class with them became a journey into folk songs, mostly from the Irish tradition, but also criss-crossing into English, Scottish and American folk songs. Melodies, harmonies, discussion, banter and laughter were the order of the day! They now have the wonderful Niamh Parsons as a teacher. Niamh has been at the forefront of traditional song in Ireland for sometime now and has brought her own unique style and humour to the class. Her erudition, her evocative singing and her encouragement continue to invigorate their Thursday night classes!
